Who we are
Environment, Conservation and Outdoor Education Trust (ECOED) was established in 2002 to halt the decline of North Island brown kiwi in Hawke’s Bay.
To date, a group of dedicated volunteers have raised and returned more than 275 chicks into the Kaweka Forest Park.
ECOED also aims to engage with iwi, DOC and general public, in particular with schools, through kiwi discovery talks and providing opportunities to see a kiwi chick during our routine kiwi chick health checks at the Kiwi Creche.
